Barbara Helen Fickett, 82, Quincy, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home. A celebration of life service will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 157 Lucinda Lane, Watervliet, MI on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Those wishing to leave an online condolence for the family may do so at www.purelycremations.org.
Barbara was born June 4, 1936 in Chicago, IL, to Charles Yucuis and Elaine (Cole) Yecuis. After graduation from high school she married William Fickett. In 1976, she and William started Kendall Sewer and Septic in Coloma, MI, which she continued after his passing and retired after 40 years of service. Barbara loved flowers and gardening, when she was not in the garden she was going to the casino’s, where she could be found at the slot machines or tables. Her favorite pastime was shopping, “if the car wasn’t full you weren’t done”. Barbara treasured her time with family and friends most of all, she will be missed!
Barbara was survived by her sons Herb (Joanne) Fickett of Coloma, MI, William (Lisa) Fickett of Coloma, MI; daughters Debbie (Rick) Vanauken of Benton Harbor, MI, Diane (Ray) Wirth of Snellville, GA, Ann (Greg) Murphy of Woodstock, GA; her brothers Jim and Jerry; and her sister Judy; 21 Grandkids; 22 Great-Grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Terry, her brother Chuck and granddaughter Jennifer Sibley.
