
Benjamin Franklin Moore, Jr, 69, of Coloma, MI, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his residence. Arrangements entrusted to Purely Cremations – Starks Family Funeral Homes – 926-9440. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, December 16, 2017, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Fairfield Inn and Suites, 8258 Arnt Blvd., Watervliet, MI. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made in Benjamin’s name to Paws of Hope. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.purelycremations.org.
Benjamin was born February 19, 1948, in Manistique, MI, to Benjamin Franklin Moore, Sr. & Adeline Jane (McAlpine) Sloothaak. After graduating high school, he proudly served his county in the United States Air Force. He married Patricia Marlane Berry, in 1968 in Berrien County, MI. Benjamin was employed at Whirlpool Corporation until he became self-employed, operating Moore’s Landscaping & Lawn Care Service. In his spare time, he loved Cyber Stock Racing at the Harford Racetrack driving #122, named “The Gingerbread Man”, fishing, and playing Rook. His happiest times were at family gatherings and spending time with his pets.
Benjamin is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Raymond (Kim Andres – Fiancé) Moore; daughters, Sharon Yarbrough and Karrie Moore; grandchildren, Zack (Alecia) Spear, Jordan Partee, Tyler Moore, Kyrsten Yarbrough, Cory Moore and Trenton Brown; great-grandchildren, Devyn Sams, Rodney Costner, Mason Spear and Joslyn Spear; sisters, Tressa (Chuck) Sutton, Janet (Joe) Loruss and Roxanne (Greg) Daugherty.
He was preceded by his father, Benjamin Moore Sr; Mother, Adeline (McAlpine) Sloothaak; step father, Robert Sloothdaak; and sister, Brenda Sue Moore.

He loved his dogs so much it is nice u said memorials can be made to Paws of Hope. He was a wonderful man who coached many of soft ball teams and fixed many cars. He was everything to me, my protector, my friend, my teacher, and so much more but mostly just the best Brother any women could ask for. I love him and miss he so much.
