Billy Charles Meeker

Leave a Condolence

Billy Charles Meeker, 79, of St. Joseph, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Nov. 5, 2021.

Billy was born Dec. 31, 1941, in St. James, Ark., to George and Margie Meeker.

His family moved to Michigan, and he attended Benton Harbor High School. Soon after graduation, he met the love of his life, Carole, and they were wed in 1963.

Billy was an avid fisherman and huntsman, and was heavily involved in the Whirlpool Sportsman Club during his many years of service with Whirlpool as an engineer. Billy could always be seen at various Lakeshore athletic events supporting his children, but also continued to support his favorite Lancers long after his children had graduated. Billy will be remembered as a dedicated family man, with his wife and children at the center of his life.

He is survived by his sister, Gloria (Jeff) Dusek; sons, Daniel Meeker, Matthew Meeker and Joshua (Laura) Meeker; his daughter, Bethany (Jerry) Duford; and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Anna, Matthew, Keira and Jase. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margie Meeker; and his wife, Carole Meeker.

A celebration of life is planned for Nov. 14 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Lazy Ballerina Winery in Bridgman.
