Debra Ann Malone of 701 Maiden Lane Benton Harbor, Michigan, daughter of the late Curtis and Dorothy Malone, transitioned to heaven on Thursday March 18, 2021.
Debra was born February 21, 1959 in Benton Harbor and was the joy of her parent’s lives.
Debra loved her family and family events. She loved traveling, enjoyed long afternoons at the beach, fine creative arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed dancing, all forms of music and writing poetry. Debra was a history buff and loved documentaries.
Her greatest joy was the birth of her son, Daniel. She was the BEST MOTHER and FRIEND to her son.
Debra attended Benton Harbor Area Schools and was a Benton Harbor graduate. She was employed through the Benton Harbor Area School System and later became a “Foster Grandparent” with the Benton Harbor Area Schools. She was a compassionate caregiver to many.
Debra had a strong faith in God and accepted Him at an early age. She served God and her community faithfully, always seeking to help improve it and encourage others. She loved working with the youth and played an active-faithful role in Sunday School/Children’s Church at “The Blue Roof”/First Assembly Church. She was active in a special prayer group and her personal Missions Ministry.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two sisters and a brother. Debra touched and influenced many lives with her warm and soft spoken words of wisdom and love.
Those who cherish her memories: Her son, Daniel Carmac DeAngelo Malone, a favorite aunt-Mrs. Birdie Small, sisters: Mrs. Willie Ora Mason, Mrs. Wan Jean Bell, Mrs. Margaret (Steven) Malone-Smith, Mrs. Michelle (Alexander) Malone-Little, Ms. Delores Jean Brent. Her “Other” sisters: Lorraine Bell-Brandon and Mrs. Diane Meyer. Sister-cousins: Natalie Tatekey and Mrs. Paula (Keith) Warren. Her godbrother, Mr. Shelton Perry and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We loved you Debra, but GOD loved you more…Rest on Dear Mother/Sister.
