Donald Francis Haynes, born June 4, 1946, in St. Joseph, Michigan, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 4382 Cleveland Avenue in Stevensville, Michigan, after a three-year battle with metastatic lung cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie Haynes.
He is survived by his two brothers, Dave Haynes of Stevensville, Michigan, and Jim Haynes (Betty) of Boca Raton, Florida; three daughters, Dawn MacKay (Emily Johnson) of Stokesdale, North Carolina, Megan Ulery (Scott) of Clermont, Florida, and Abby Haynes of Saint Joseph, Michigan; and seven grandchildren: Jori and Sadie Falak (Dawn MacKay), Austin, McKenna, McKylie & Andrew Ulery (Megan Ulery) & Sierra Campbell (Abby Haynes); two special aunts, Maxine (Rick) Falls and Bernadette Johnson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Donald was also known as “Turtle Boy,” “Little Donnie,” and “Francis” to family and friends. He loved NASCAR, Clemson football, & collecting turtles. He introduced his daughters to their love for Arizona, mountains, horseback riding, roller coasters, and their love of mathematics. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. His family would like to sincerely thank everyone for their kindness and support over the past month.
