Jackie “Jack” Allen Alsup Sr., 60, of Niles was born on June 16, 1962, and he passed on Aug. 15, 2022.
Jack passed away at home after experiencing a sudden cardiac event. His spirit lives on.
Jack was a fun, loving and caring person. He was a devoted father (in-law), son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was very social and always willing to help others. He enjoyed making others laugh.
Jack volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army covering many holiday seasons. He loved ringing the bells and greeting people as they showed their generosity for others during the holidays. He regularly attended coffee sittings, “Taco Tuesdays,” and social meetings with friends at the Spero House Niles, located in Niles.
He never married. Jack is survived by his son, Jackie Jr.; daughter-in-law, LaTasha; two granddaughters: Nevaeh and Karmin (Kaden Rae); five brothers: Steve, Doug, James, William, Gary; a sister, Reva and Carrie (in-law); many nieces and nephews: (Jennifer, J.J., Cody, Juanita, and Sammy, just to name a few).
He is preceded in death by his parents: James and Margie; six siblings; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life is planned at noon on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Spero House, 603 N. 2nd St., Niles. At the celebration, a “Promotion to Glory” service will be led by officers of the Salvation Army. Come as you are and share a story about Jack!
Jack requested his ashes be placed with his deceased father at the Crystal Springs Cemetery. At his son’s request, the family will lay Jack’s ashes on a separate date.
