Joel Alexander Dudley, 36, left this physical world on January 14, 2021. He was born in Traverse City, Mi. on August 17, 1984. He is survived by his Father, John (Nicole) Dudley, Mother, Doris (Steve) Eberhard and his brother Mike (Jennifer) Dudley. He leaves two nieces, Daphne Perhala and Devlyn Farrier. He also leaves Grandparents Allen and Virginia Van Horn of Bloomingdale, Mi. He was preceded in death by Grandparents Jim and Jean Dudley of Grand Junction, Mi. Several Uncles, Aunts and many loving cousins round out the family. He was employed at Erbelli’s Pizza in Portage, Mi.
Joel was loved by all that he came in contact with. He had an infectious smile and a hearty laugh. His silliness and sense of humor was his trademark. He loved hanging out with his friends and added fun to any party. He had a great appreciation for art and nature. He was happiest just hanging around a lake or pond. He enjoyed writing and doing his own artwork. Campfires and helping his Dad occasionally in his garden made him happy. He frequently accompanied his Dad to the Magic Capitol of the World, Colon, Michigan, to enjoy lifelong friends made during the yearly convention.
As a child he was a trend-setter and loved hanging out with his big brother, playing games and watching WWF. One of his fondest memories was travelling to Colorado with his Mom to visit his niece and her family. When Joel loved, he loved deeply. A friend was always a friend.
He was one of the two brightest spots in his parent’s lives and will forever leave an emptiness in all who had the privilege to know him. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
