June Joan (Nick) Nafziger, 90, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away November 19, 2020 at her residence. She was born on June 25, 1930 on Standing Rock Indian Reservation in Mobridge, South Dakota to Thomas and Stella (Nick) Cain. She loved life on the South Dakota Prairie growing up with 19 brothers and sisters. In 1957, June married the love of her life, Robert Nafziger, in Fairplain, MI. Together they farmed and she ran the family U-Pick orchard. June enjoyed her many customers, often praying with them. She loved sewing and making quilts for friends, neighbors and grocery store employees. Over her lifetime she also made over 1,000 baptismal robes for several churches in the U.S and abroad. Baking was another one of her joys. She would gift loaves of bread to neighbors or anyone who came to her home. June was an original member of the Eau Claire Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a member of the Coloma Seventh-Day Adventist Church and most recently the Harford Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She loved the church. June was known to stop whatever she was doing and pray with anyone or for anything.
June is survived by her son, Dale (Sandra) Nafziger; grandson, Wesley; sisters, Catherine and Donna; brothers, Edwin and Marvin and son-in-law, Randall Culbertson. She was preceded by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Jean (Nafziger) Culbertson; sisters, Mary, Fannie, Florence, Mona, Virginia, Lily and Emily; brothers, Martin, Peter, Carl, Vernon, David and George.
