Lillian Barchalk, 96 of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully November 25, 2020 at home surrounded by her daughters. She was born on October 31, 1924 on the family farm in Sodus, MI to Stanley and Bernice (Mileski) Rogalski. Life was good with 3 brothers and 1 sister. She attended the small Shanghai School nearby. Lillian graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1943. She married Stanley Barchalk in January 1945 at Watervliet Catholic Church and began their 67 years of life together. From this union came six children, Michalene, Delores, Judy, Karen, John and Jeri Ann. From running Stan’s Gulf Service Station to waitressing at Bill Knapps and then onto The Coloma Dairy Queen for 25 years, her main goal was to take care of her family. She did this very well and we are so thankful. She was a member of St. John’s Church for many years.
Lillian is survived by her daughters; Michalene Reeves, Delores (Ed) Yetzke, Judy Barchalk-Shirley and Karen Barchalk; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She will be reunited in death with her parents; husband, Stanley; children, John and Jeri Ann; brothers, Jim, Chester and Max and sister, Virginia Woodley.
There will be a family celebration of Lillian’s life at a later date.Print Obituary & Condolences
