
Margie Elaine (Schulz) Davis, 81, of Riverside, MI passed away February 11, 2021 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Purely Cremations-Starks Family Funeral Homes. Margie was born October 30, 1939 in Benton Harbor, MI to William and Olga (Fredricks) Schulz. She grew up in Benton Harbor with her 5 siblings. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and later Benton Harbor High School, graduating from Benton Harbor High School in 1957.
She met the love of her life, Jerry Davis, while still in school. They were married September 12, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, MI. She worked various jobs, most recent at Tri-County Bookkeepers in Benton Harbor, MI.
She and Jerry settled in Riverside in 1964, where she resided until her death.
Being a cancer survivor, Margie was active in the Relay for Life as a member of the Chemosabies. She loved researching genealogy for the Schulz, Fredricks and Davis families, attending school functions for her grandchildren, going to see her son, Jeff, play drums in his bands and working in her yard and flower gardens, She also enjoyed an occasional margarita, which became known as a “marge-a-rita”. She was always up for an adventure!
Margie is survived by three children, Larry Davis of Coloma, Jeff (Suzette) Davis of Eau Claire and Suzanne (Jeff) Culby of Riverside; eight grandchildren, Nathan (Mikayla) Davis of Paw Paw, Haley (Greg Hunt) Davis of Eau Claire, Skylaar Davis of Eau Clarie, Kirstin Davis of St. Joseph, Devin (Lindsey) Davis of Coloma, Rachael (Bryce) Thomas of Coloma, Taylor (Max
Powell) Culby of Coloma and Spencer Culby of Lansing; six great-grandchildren, Jaxton, Kasyn, Shiloh, Ryder, Gregory and Adalyn; siblings, William (Dara) Schulz of Benton Harbor, Ronald (Sue) Schulz of Berrien Springs, Susan Schulz of Berrien Springs, brother-in-law Robert Bly of Berrien Springs and her kitty, Stinker.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry (2009); parents; sisters, Betty (Herbert) Zech, Nancy Bly and infant sister Ruth Schulz.
Per Margie’s wishes no service has been planned. A graveside gathering will be held at a later date for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Berrien County.
