Melissa was born June 8, 1950 in Grand Rapids, MI to Rex and Agnus (Davies) Branch. She attended Lawrence High School where she excelled as an athlete. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, Donald Torrey on September 28, 1973 in Paw Paw. Everyone called her by her nickname, “Goose” due to her contagious laugh that resembled the sound a goose makes. Melissa had a great sense of humor always looking for the bright side of every situation. She was an honorary member of the Victor Neuman family from the “Young and the Restless” soap opera which she rarely if ever missed watching. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandson, Landon.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Don, her son, Donald (Sheri) Torrey; grandson, Landon Torrey; and brothers, Greg Branch and Steve Branch. She was preceded by her parents and sister, Sara Goderre.

I can’t remember a day that our life’s didn’t intertwine over a cup of coffee or just the phone. Or a quick emoji on messenger. She had such a personality that always made me laugh we always seem to find the good in each other. She will forever live in my heart with a life time of memory. They say a table is set before us I will see her on the other side R.I.P Missy and yes you got the last word

Oh I have so many memories of Goose (Missy), when she use to live just down the road from me and the kids would play together! Us playing softball in the summer, she is going to be miss and she will always be remember a spunky sort of person that would not be taken advantage of! To Missy fly high with those wings of yours! You will be greatly miss!
