
Patricia (Patty) Ann Dalrymple
June 19, 1931-October 12, 2021
Our sweet Patty passed away at her home in St. Joseph, MI at the age of 90 with her loving partner of 47 years at her side. She was born in Elkhart, IN to Bessie and Kenneth Dalrymple. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell, and sisters Jean, Philis, Lucille, and Mary Lou.
Patty graduated from Elkhart High School in 1950, from Presbyterian School of Nursing in 1953, and from Northwestern Medical School of Physical Therapy in 1956. She was employed by the Rehab Institute of Chicago 1957-1960. She then entered the convent of the Daughters of Charity in St. Louis where she graduated from Merillac College. She was Chief of the Physical Therapy Department at Cardinal Ritter Institute in St. Louis from 1964 until 1974.
In 1974, Patty moved to Tucson, AZ and returned to her nursing profession at Kino Community Hospital as director of the inpatient medical unit. After retiring in 1986, she volunteered in chaplain services at St. Mary’s hospital and in community services for the Tucson Police Department.
In 2015, Patty moved to St Joseph, MI to be near her family. She is survived by her partner, Carol Anderson, and her little dog, RainBo. Also surviving are her nieces, Mary, Carol, Carla, Cindy, Sherry, Paula, Karen, Pam and Linda Rae and her nephews Steve, Ron, Mark, Everett and Tim and numerous great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews.
Patty’s loving, gentle spirit will be remembered by her many special friends. She was a blessing to the universe and we will miss her terribly.
