Ray C. DeSenzio

February 2, 1926 to April 13, 2020

Ray C. DeSenzio, 94, of St. Joseph, MI passed away April 13, 2020 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI.  No service or visitation are planned at this time.  Arrangements entrusted to Purely Cremations – Starks Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services 926-9440.  Those who wish to leave an online condolence for the family may do so at www.Purelycremations.org.  Memorials may be made in Ray’s name to the Berrien County Cancer Service or the Salvation Army.

Ray was born February 2, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Daniel and Catherine (Ciprik) Dascanzio.  He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII receiving a Purple Heart due to an injury he sustained from a landmine at the Battle of the Bulge.  He married the love of his life, Jeanne Marie Sisson, on July 3, 1951 in Roseland, IN.  Ray retired from Auto Specialties when they closed after 30 years of service as a Quality Controller.  He then worked part-time for Sanders Dental Clinic.  In his spare time, Ray enjoyed driving, reading, working puzzles and meeting his friends at the gym.  His favorite times were spent with his beloved family.

Ray is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jeanne; sons, Don (Patricia) DeSenzio and Scott (Tonda) DeSenzio; granddaughters, Allison DeSenzio, Katie (Darrell) Lefon and Adrianne DeSenzio; grandson, Armando (Jamie) DeSenzio; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Lincoln, Lily, Emmett, Lucian, Zaylee, Alexis and Kasen.

Ray was preceded by his parents and brothers, Edward Dascanzio and Fred Dascanzio.

    I’m so sorry Jean. I’ll miss seeing him drive down the street and occasionally stopping to say hello when I was in the front yard. You’ve been great neighbors for these past 22 years. Let us know if you need anything.
