Raymond Thomas Steinhaus, 71, of Watervliet, MI passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI. He was born October 28th, 1947 to Clarence and Rita (Clark) Steinhaus in Watervliet, MI. After graduating from Coloma High School in 1966, Ray worked at the Watervliet Paper Company until it closed. He married the love of his life, Linda Jean (Waits) Steinhaus, on May 23, 1970. Ray started Ray’s Towing in 1995 and grew it into Rays Towing and Auto Repair as it is known today. After Ray retired, his son, Jeffrey Thomas Steinhaus, continues to run Rays legacy as owner and operator.
Ray loved his 1945 Love and 1949 John Deere AW tractors; his dog, Benny; spending time on the family farm in LeRoy, MI and with Michigan Flywheelers in South Haven. Most of all, Ray deeply loved his wife of 49 years, Linda; son, Jeffrey (Lynn) Steinhaus; grandchildren, Sumner, Blake, Amber & Charley; brother, Clark (Bev) Steinhaus; sister-in-law, Delores Steinhaus, niece, Alison; nephew, Scott; cousins, Miriam, Milie and Cheri all of Texas; Dan Woodruff and all of his LeRoy Michigan family. He was preceded by his parents and brother, Robert Steinhaus.
