Robert Ernest Szygielski, 61, of St. Joseph passed away at his home unexpectedly.
He was born on Nov. 6, 1960, in St. Joseph to Robert Carl Szygielski and Barbara Jean (Langer) Szygielski.
After graduating from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1979, he worked as a machinist in several shops in the area.
Robert was fascinated with airplanes. He could name each one by name, model, year and what they were used for. He also enjoyed racing, spending several years at the Indianapolis 500, with his uncle, working as ushers.
Robert is survived by his father, Robert Carl (Bonnie) Szygielski of Stevensville; his sister, Susan Carol Szygielski Dandino of Florida; and his niece Carmella Dandino of Florida.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean (Langer) Szygielski .
Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph.
