Tammy Marie (Tackett) Jean, of Eau Claire, passed away Thursday, August 29th, 2019 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a true warrior.
She was born September 10th, 1962, to Daniel and Wilma (Farley) Tackett. She grew up in Hartford, one of eight children. Four sisters: Wanda Marshall, Debra Gordon, Barbara Tackett, and one who wishes to remain unnamed. Three brothers: Daniel Tackett, Ronald Tackett, and Thomas Tackett. She loved them all dearly.
At the time of her death, she was married to the love of her life, Johnny Jean Sr. for 28 years, but had been with him for 38.5 total years. She had four children of her own: Jody Rogers, Jeffrey Jean, Tiffany Jean, and Johnny Jean Jr.. Tammy has two grandsons: Cameron Rogers and Collin Rogers, whom she was so proud of, as well as countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, etc. Family was everything to her.
Tammy was a kitchen manager at Lybrook Elementary School in Eau Claire, where she loved her coworkers as well as all the children she came in contact with. They meant as much to her as her blood family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Tackett, her sister Debra Gordon, a baby niece, who we are sure she’s finally holding tight, and several aunts and uncles.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Bright Star Tabernacle for their donation, as well as Tammy’s dear friends: Kathy Arend, Ruth Arend, Gloria Langer, T.I. Ferry and family, Sheila Engler, Janet Crawford, and many, many more.
Tammy’s final wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes sprinkled up north, by Tahquamenon Falls. Her family has chosen to honor her lack of desire for a funeral or viewing, but a celebration of life is to be planned for the future.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
