Virginia Lee Baldwin, 86, passed away peacefully January 24, 2021 at her home. She was born July 19, 1934 to Thomas (Tony) and Josephine (Tripi) Damico.
Virginia was born July 19, 1934 in Benton Harbor, MI to Thomas (Tony) and Josephine (Tripi) Damico. She loved her hometown where she raised and remained there her entire life. She graduated from Saint John’s Catholic School and attended Lake Michigan College. Virginia knew the Lord had plans for her to be a mother. She married Orville Baldwin in 1955 and had 7 children who meant the world to her. As the family grew, she became a loving Nana to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Virginia worked at Lakeland Hospital for over 20 years, retiring at the age of 75. She enjoyed her job and meeting people. Virginia loved movies from a very young age. She was an avid reader, excellent crossword puzzle solver and enjoyed doing crafts. She was very talented at photo projects and put together beautiful scrapbooks.
Her faith in God was strong and a true example of how love and trust in the Lord can help us to overcome barriers. She was a member of St. John and St. Bernard Catholic Parish.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Randall Baldwin of St. Joseph, Tim (Phyllis) Baldwin of Watervliet, Mary Baldwin of St. Joseph, Janice (Daniel) Baldwin of Benton Harbor, Sharon Christians of Benton Harbor, Regina Sando of Coloma, and Jennifer (Mike) Howell of Benton Harbor. She also left her love to many grandchildren: Susan Baldwin, Nicholas Baldwin, Brian Shockley, Chris Shockley, Mike Shockley, Lisa Allerton, Bobby Allerton, Timothy Allerton, Rachel Allerton, Anthony Baldwin, Jeffrey Hoadley, Joshua Hoadley, Joseph Hoadley, Monica Hogue, Jonathon Baldwin, Daniel Gerstenberger, Sarah Horton, Stephanie Martin, Kenneth Christians, Peter Sando, and Jacob Howell. Virginia also cherished her great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Polfus of Benton Harbor: and a brother, Philip Damico of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and 2 infant siblings.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those who wish to leave a condolence on-line may do so at www.purelycremation.org.
